PT  Perkebunan  Nusantara  VII (Persero)  is  one  of Indonesia’s  State-owned  Enterprises  in  plantation sector.  Its  Headquarters  are  located  in  Bandar Lampung,  Province  of  Lampung.  The  company  was incorporated  based  on  the  Government’s  Regulation Number 12 Year of 1996, dated February 14, 1996 and Notarial Act by Harun Kamil, SH No.40 dated March 11, 1996. The Company was established as a merger of PT Perkebunan X (Persero), PT Perkebunan XXXI (Persero), Project for Development of PT Perkebunan XI (Persero) in Regency of Lahat, and Project for Development  of PT Perkebunan XXIII (Persero) in the Province of Bengkulu.

The original Certificate of Association by Notary Harun Kamil, SH  was altered into Certificate Number 08, dated October 11, 2002 by Notary Sri Rahayu Hadi Prasetyo, SH, and was further authorized by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Republic of Indonesia under Decree Number  C-20863  HT.01.04,  year  of  2002,  dated 25 October  25,  2002.  The  Certificate  was  then  further altered  into  Certificate  Number 34,  dated  August  13, 2008  by Notary Nur Muhammad Dipo Nusantara Pua Upa, SH, and was authorized by Minister of Justice and Human  Rights,  Republic  of  Indonesia,  Number AHU-55963.AH.01.02  year of  2008, and with the alteration of Act No 11, point (2) which was further incorporated in Act No 11 of September 14, 2009, as authorized by Minister of  Justice  and  Human  Rights,  Republic  of  Indonesia, Number AHU-AH.01.10-18412 of October 22, 2009.

The  merging  of  those  plantation  estates  into PT  Perkebunan  Nusantara  VII (Persero)  has  left a  unique  historical  record.  Prior  to  merging  into PT Perkebunan Nusantara VII (Persero), PT Perkebunan X  (Persero) was a state -owned enterprise  operating in  plantation  agribusiness  in  Lampung  and  South Sumatera  Provinces.  PT  Perkebunan  X (Persero) originated  from  a  Dutch  colonial  plantation  estate located  in  South  Sumatera  and  Lampung.  Through a  nationalization  process,  the  plantation  estate  was overtaken by the Government of Republic of Indonesia in 1957. This company was further exposed to a couple of  Government’s  reorganizational  and  corporate restructuring policies before transforming into a limited company in 1980.

PT  Perkebunan  XXXI  (Persero)  historical  records were  made  following  the  Government’s  policies  in development  of  sugar  industry  outside  the  island  of Java  in 1978.  This  plantation  company  was  initially a  development  project  of  PT  Perkebunan  XXI  -  XXII (Persero) with its headquarters located in Surabaya. In 989,  the  company  was  transformed  into  a  corporate body  bearing  the  name  of  PT  Perkebunan  XXXI (Persero) with its headquarters located in Palembang, South Sumatera.

Meanwhile,  the  Development  Project  of  Perkebunan XI (Persero)  in  the  Regency  of  Lahat,  having  its headquarters  in  Jakarta  and  the  Development Project  of  PT  Perkebunan  XXIII (Persero)  Bengkulu with  its  headquaters  located  in  Surabaya  took  the role  as  Nucleus-Smallholder  Plantation  Project  since 1980’s. This distance control, in addition to the given hard  topographical  conditions  which  caused  high exploitation  cost,  prevented  it  from  reaching  high management efficiency of project which in turn left the project management with less optimized outcome.

Currently,  the  Company’s  operational  area  covers three provinces consisting of  10 business units in the Province of Lampung, 14 business units in the Province of  South  Sumatera,  and  three  business  units  in  the Province  of  Bengkulu.  The  Company’s  current  total concession area is  129,10 0.08 ha. The Company was originally established to take active role in implementing and supporting the Government’s Program in economic development within the national development scheme in  general  and  in  plantation  sub-sector  in  particular.

All are aimed at executing operations in agribusiness and agro-industry and benefiting from the Company’s resources as to produce high quality and competitive goods/services to reach and pursue significant profit in  order  to  elevate  the  Company’s  values  through acceptable limited corporation principles.
